Water Damage in Basement

While the homeowners were away, 90% of the basement flooring was covered with water from a crack in their boiler. Even though this is considered clean water, the duration of sit time before found resulted in a higher category and required removal of carpet and pad. Since the carpet had absorbed all the water, even after extraction, it would start microbial growth if not removed. Baseboard was removed and holes were drilled under the baseboard line to circulate air within the bottom of the walls. Luckily, drywall did not have to be removed since the water line did not sit high enough to saturate the walls. Equipment was set-up and within 3 days, everything was dry. Antimicrobial was then sprayed, and the basement was ready for contractors to start repairs.
