Protecting Your Roof From Wind Storms
5/22/2019 (Permalink)
Wind storms can occur during any season and could be accompanied by another storm such as hurricane, thunderstorm, or even a snow storm. We all know that these types of storms can hit at a moment’s notice. Whenever you experience high winds, you should take shelter immediately to protect yourself from the flying debris. The roof of your home is also extremely venerable during this type of weather.
High winds can lift and/or rip the shingles right off of your roof causing damage and future leaks. You will want to make sure your roof is well taken care of and the materials can withstand high, damaging winds. Instead of shingles and asphalt, replacing your roof with metal or stone might make it more durable.
Trees are also very vulnerable during wind storms. To prevent future roof damage from a fallen tree, make sure you observe your property to ensure there are not dead trees or limbs hanging in the vicinity and that all trees are a safe distance from your home.
If you experience any kind of damage to your roof, it should be addressed and fixed immediately. If a roof is left unfixed, you might end up needing our services for water and/or mold damage.
